I am interested in using neuroimaging, behavioral measures, and computational modeling to understand the development of lateralized function. How do brain regions become selective for specific cognitive functions and when does this take place in development? Can this information help predict acquisition and maturation of these processes? These questions provide a foundational motivation to highlight and attend to the seemingly under-examined factors of daily life, like handedness, providing a more nuanced exploration into how the diversity of human experiences contribute to sculpting the structural and functional components of neural circuits.
